Irwin’s critically acclaimed Mañana is the product of her 2013-2014 Playwrights Realm Fellowship and received its Off Broadway debut last year at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. This production earned multiple award nominations, including the Lucille Lortel Outstanding Play, the Drama Desk Outstanding Play, and the Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Awards.
“Elizabeth Irwin is an important new voice in the American theatre and I am delighted that Marin Theatre is presenting her Bay Area premiere," MTC Artistic Director Jasson Minadakis said. "She has crafted an urgent new play about the elusiveness of the American Dream for young workers attempting to make ends meet for their families. As our national debate intensifies around immigration and undocumented workers, My Mañana Comes is a cry for compassion.”
