The Milley’s 22nd annual gala is set for October 23 at 6pm at the Community Center. The following standouts will be honored:

Jasson Minadakis – Performing and Film Arts
Bob Bijou – Community Contributions
Jacques Leslie – Literary Arts
Arthur “Tripp” Carpenter – Visual Arts and Design
The latest batch of Milley Award winner brings the total honorees over 22 years to 140 individuals and organizations. Past winners have included such diverse and distinguished arts contributors as Eve Pell, Michael Painter, Craig Frazier, Betty Goerke, Jim Lange, Jane Hirshfield, Bill Champlin, Dan Hicks, Lucy Mercer, Suki Hill, Kathleen Quinlan, Rob Nilsson, Cyra McFadden, Bob Weir, Pirkle Jones, George Duke, Barry Spitz, John Goddard, Lee Sankowich, David Harris, Gretchen Mentzer, Mimi Farina, Martin Cruz Smith and Rita Abrams. Organizations and businesses have been honored as well, including the Mill Valley Chamber Music Society, the Mountain Play Association, the Outdoor Art Club, O’Hanlon Center for the Arts and the Depot Bookstore & Café.
The Milley Award is a bronze statuette created by John Libberton of Sausalito. The annual gala event is produced by a volunteer board of directors, under the auspices of the Mill Valley Art Commission.
