The commission considered five proposals for a bathroom on or near the Depot Plaza. Four of them were part of a feasibility study by longtime local architect Kim Jessup, while the fifth was proffered by resident Bob Silvestri. The commission whittled those five down to two:
- A stand-alone bathroom at the bus shelter near the southeastern edge of the Depot Plaza adjacent to Sunnyside Avenue. Jessup estimated the cost of construction of such a facility at around $30,000.
- A new bathroom in the northern part of Depot building closest to the parking lot by "improving the functionality and efficiency of the interior spaces within the renovated area," particularly the building's storage area, according to Silvestri.
The City Council is not required to limit its discussion to the two proposals recommended by the commission.
