Grady, a Marin native who was brought on as artistic producer in 2010 after serving two years on the Mountain Play's board, began her directing career right after graduating from Dominican University, where she received her BA in business administration with a minor in humanities. For several decades, Grady worked in both insurance and the arts.
“I am honored to be entrusted with the leadership of this Bay Area treasure," Grady says. "I look forward to leading the Mountain Play team on the next leg of our journey and to continue the great work that the organization has done for the last 105 years. I am especially thrilled that Sara Pearson will remain with organization and that we can continue building upon on all the work we have done together since 2008.”
“I could not have chosen a better teammate and leader than Eileen Grady," says Pearson, who was the organization's executive director for the past 12 years. "She has been my thought partner for nearly a decade and has been an active participant in every Mountain Play strategic decision during that time. There is no one with more dedication, knowledge, and readiness to step up to lead this organization into the next adventure."
On this heels of this summer's production of Mamma Mia!, the Mountain Play presents the musical Grease for its 106th season opening in May 2019.
