Long hailed as a major influence on the legendary Bob Dylan, it's safe to say that Ramblin' Jack Elliott does not take musicians under his wing lightly.

So when he did just that to fellow Marin resident Nell Robinson in 2011 – the pair have toured together nationally for the past two years and hit the stage at the Throckmorton Theatre on July 11 – it was the sort of endorsement that provides a musician with a potent cocktail of a self esteem boost and a massive shot of adrenaline.

Armed with that momentum and grounded in the fact that she's been singing in church choirs and musical since she was a young child in Alabama, Robinson has been on a tear. Her 2014 album Joe Henry-produced Rose of No Man’s Land, which focused on the effect of war on families — the men and women who leave to fight, and the loved ones they leave behind – drew rave reviews and was the most-played album in folk radio in 2014.

In opening on July 11 for Marshall resident Elliott, San Rafael resident Robinson is teaming with Jim Nunally in their new classic country band Your Good Luck Charm featuring Pete Grant on pedal steel and Jon Arkin on percussion. Nunally currently tours with both the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience and John Reischman and the Jaybirds.

Since Elliott appeared on Rose of No Man’s Land, fans can expect Your Good Luck Charm to join Elliott to perform a few songs and stories from the project, which Robinson created using actual letters from her Alabama family with stories deeply intertwined with events in American history.

The 411: Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Nell Robinson & Jim Nunally and their band Your Good Luck Charm perform at the Throckmorton Theatre, 142 Throckmorton Avenue, on July 11 at 8pm. Watch Robinson, Nunally and Your God Luck Charm perform Johnny Cash's “Folsom Prison Blues”:
