SmashBurger's arrival in Mill Valley sparked a lively discussion about the number of burger joints Mill Valley could support. With SmashBurger and Weezy's adding to Pearl’s Phat Burgers, Super Duper Burger, In-N-Out Burger and McDonalds – not to mention the great burgers at places like Bungalow 44 and Buckeye Roadhouse – many wondered if it was excessive.
Just 18 months after it opened in the Alto Center in the space between Pet Food Express and the U.S. Post Office formerly occupied by Caffe Oggi, SmashBurger has closed. The move comes just one month after Weezy’s Grass Fed Shed, the burger joint that opened around the same time as SmashBurger in 2013, closed its restaurant at 507 Miller Ave., a location that has seen a trio of much-ballyhooed restaurants come and go in the past four years. Weezy's has also closed its once-popular location in Terra Linda. SmashBurger's arrival in Mill Valley sparked a lively discussion about the number of burger joints Mill Valley could support. The raising of livestock (grass fed or not) is destroying our planet. It's time for people to take action and make real change before it's too late by switching to a plan-based diet. I hope that Mill Valley restauranteurs will listen and bring some delicious vegan food to the town!

Sad to see restaurants closing, but Hannah is right, there weren't enough veggie options available in Mill Valley. I launched a simple, healthy, meals-on-demand business called 180Eats to solve that problem. We're working with the ex executive chef from Google to offer local, organic meals delivered to your door (for $10.95) - no tax, no delivery fee, no minimums.

so - WHY did Smash Burger close? Weezy's was horrible - service was the worst & food mediocre. But Smash was delicious. Good reporting would have told the reader WHY it closed.

Smashburger sucked. I ate there once and that was enough. I think my burger had 6 months supply of daily salt allowance. The youtube video of the owner showing how to cook a burger didn't help. Hair from the 80's and no hair net. Gross!!!

One, no two less poison merchants down. Growing up on a farm in the 50s n 60s, I couldn't understand the syringes scattered all over the pastures. Farmers get paid by weight for cattle so shoot em up with who knows what before slaughter. Heaven knows how sophisticated drugging cows has become now!! Fed this crap to kids!!??! Help us
