“We couldn’t be more pleased to have someone of Christian’s caliber on our senior team,” says The Redwoods' CEO J. Hunter Moore of the hiring. “He not only brings extensive knowledge and experience in fundraising , but he has a deep history in Marin and a life-long association with The Redwoods.”
Mills, who joined The Redwoods in May and most recently served as Associate Director of Major Gifts at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, says that working at The Redwoods “makes me feel like I have finally returned to my roots in Mill Valley. As a fourth generation Mill Valley resident, my family has long known what a special place we have in The Redwoods.”
Mills, who lives in Strawberry, volunteered and performed plays for residents when he was a student at Tamalpais High School; his mother, Debbie Mills, was a long-time member of The Redwood Board of Directors.
“It’s an honor to be part of The Redwoods,” he adds. “The culture and spirit here are truly inspiring. One of my goals is to spread the word about this creative and affordable place – and to make sure that everyone understands that it is a not-for-profit organization that relies on community support.”
