On Sunday, December 4, eighty-five tons of real snow + eight amazing restaurants + nine stupendous live performances + nine fantastic sponsors + an incredible Santa + loads of games and children's activities + blue skies (woo-hoo!) = one of the best Enjoy Mill Valley Winterfest celebrations ever, with nearly 4,000 people turning out to the Depot Plaza the landmark local event.

Produced by the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center and Team Pro Event, the event featured a sledding hill of 85 tons of real snow from the Lake Tahoe area, a visit from Santa and amazing local food from the likes of Piazza D'Angelo, Balboa Cafe, El Paseo, Equator Coffees & Teas, Extreme Pizza, Good Earth Natural Foods, Honeymoon Ice Cream, Stefano's Pizza.

It also had live performances from Performing Arts Academy of Marin, Singers Marin, Tam High School Woodwind Ensemble, Happy Feet Dance School, Rose Paradise, Rock the Ages, Roco Dance and a Tree Lighting Ceremony led by City of Mill Valley Mayor John McCauley.

On top of all that, the likes of Zephyr Real Estate, Bradley Real Estate, Park 'N Fly, the San Francisco Chronicle, Poekie Nook and Kiddo! ran an array of children's games and activities, with a massive number of volunteers helping to make the event run smoothly throughout the day. The event also drew a significant amount of donations for the SF-Marin Food Bank (you can donate before Winterfest here), unwrapped toy donations for the Toys for Tots program and the Performing Stars of Marin via the Mill Valley Fire Department and warm coats for One Warm Coat.

Thanks to the thousands who came out to this great community event and to all those who helped make it happen! Here's a taste of the sights and sounds of the day:
